Under the spotlight: Irvine and Dreghorn

Irvine and Dreghorn Band with Musical Director, Helen Douthwaite.

 

THE Irvine and Dreghorn Band is the latest band to go under the spotlight ahead of the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge.

Conducted by Helen Douthwaite-Teasdale, the Ayrshire band is looking forward to taking to the stage in Kilmarnock's Grand Hall on November 19.

History

The band is based in Irvine and competes in the second section. It has been in existence in some format since the early 1970s, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2016.

In addition to the senior band, Irvine and Dreghorn has a youth band and brasslets beginners Band, which supplies children from as young as six with brass instruments and tuition.

Rehearsals take place at the Woodlands Football Pavillion, Woodlands Avenue, Irvine, KA12 0PU.

All players are welcome to the band, and members love to welcome new faces.
