History

The Tullis Russell Intermediate Band was formed in 2011 as an adult learning band, providing a stepping stone for the Tullis Russell Youth Band.

In 2012 it was decided to register the band as a fourth section band. The band, although very young compared to other Scottish bands, has had great success in competitions and has represented Scotland at the National Finals on two separate occasions.

The orginal objectives of the band are still maintained with empty seats being filled by players from the Tullis youth setup. Many players from the intermediate band have now moved into the Tullis Russell Mills Band.
