THE Whitburn Band is to perform in a concert prior to competing at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
Held in Whitburn Academy, on Shanks Road, Whitburn, the event on Thursday, October 8, is free of charge. It will feature a short programme which will culminate with a performance of Spiriti, Thomas Doss' set work for the competition in the Royal Albert Hall on October 10. The concert is due to begin at 7.45pm.
Whitburn will be conducted by Michael Fowles at both events, which follow a recent concert at the Cumnock Tryst music festival, where it was invited to perform by founder, Sir James MacMillan.
