ENTRIES are open for the 2015 West of Scotland Solo and Ensemble contest, which is to be adjudicated by Black Dyke baritone star, Katrina Marzella.

The event, which is organised by the West of Scotland Brass Band Association, is to be held in the Salvation Army Hall, Sturrock Street, Kilmarnock, on Saturday, October 31. A pre-draw will take place after the closing date and will be circulated to all participants in advance of the contest.

Entries to the solo competition cost £5 while ensemble entries cost £10. Proceedings get underway at 10am.

Competitors may use either a CD or piano accompaniment at the contest, with a tuned piano and CD players both available on the day. Accompaniment to tape backing will not be permitted.

Anyone looking to make use of the official accompanist should send the accompaniment to the contest secretary by October 24. Any accompaniment requests after this date will be at the discretion of the contest accompanist.
