Professor John Wallace CBE to address SBBA Member bands this Sunday.

The Scottish Brass Band Association are delighted to welcome the world-renowned Professor John Wallace CBE, virtuosi musician and Principal the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, as the keynote speaker at their 2012 Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting, which takes place this Sunday, 28th October 2012 at The Management Centre in Stirling.
Andrew Duncan, SBBA's Development Manager commented "We are extremely honored that Professor Wallace will be attending this year's conference and I have no doubt that his presentation will offer much food for thought for us all. Coupling his broad musical knowledge and experience with his brass band background makes him an ideal keynote speaker for the event, so we are very much looking forward to his sharing of ideas and observations."
In addition to Professor Wallace's featured presentation, this year's event looks set to offer a wide variety of further informative sessions to update all attendees on SBBA's activities and plans. The schedule includes input from George Burt (President), Andrew Duncan (Development Manager), Lynsey Paterson (Child Protection Officer), John Hamilton (Sponsorship & Project Management) and Clair Tomalin (Marketing & Publicity), with Prof. John Wallace taking to the speaker's podium at 11.45.
The AGM formalities will follow the lunch break, including an open forum opportunity for members to discuss SBBA's activities and plans. An update on SBBA's presentation of the European Festival of Brass 2014 (which incorporates the 2014 European Brass Band Championships), is then followed by draws for the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships, Scottish Open Brass Band Championships and the Scottish Challenge Shield and Cup, which then conclude the event.
Registration commences at 9.30am on 28th October and The 2012 Annual Conference welcomes everyone interested in learning more about SBBA's activities and benefitting from the insightful presentation being offered by Prof. John Wallace. SBBA member bands are also actively encouraged to ensure they have representatives present to participate in the official AGM element of the day's events.
Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunities to talk with other member bands, SBBA committee members and the day's other speakers, together with information desks for Child Protection/registration and Marketing/Publicity.
SBBA looks forward to welcoming you to their 2012 Annual Conference and AGM at 9.30am on Sunday 28th October in The Management Centre, Stirling.
