Johnstone Band triumphed at the 2015 Band Supplies Scottish Challenge.

THE Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has confirmed the line-up ahead of the 2016 Band Supplies Scottish Challenge.

Twenty five bands from sections one to four are due to take to the stage in Kilmarnock's Grand Hall on Saturday, November 19, to perform own choice test pieces in a bid to impress the adjudicating team of Alan Fernie and Brendan Wheeler.

Alan Douglas, contest controller, said: "The Band Supplies Scottish Challenge is an innovative event which enjoys tremendous support and that is reflected in the high number of entries to this year's contest.

"Bands from sections one to four are part of the lifeblood of the Scottish banding scene and I look forward to welcoming bands, supporters and audience members to Kilmarnock for what is shaping up to be a terrific competition."

The Band Supplies Scottish Challenge forms part of the Scottish Festival of Brass.

It will also see the Scottish Open taking place in Perth Concert Hall on November 26, with the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships also held in the Perth venue on November 26 and 27.
