Heroes and Villains take to Aberdeen stage in follow-up movie-themed concert

After positive reviews of their Williams vs Zimmer concert in Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre last year – featuring the music of John Williams and Hans Zimmer – the three Bon-Accord Bands will be performing together in the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Sunday (7 June).

Sunday’s theme is Heroes and Villains, Music from the Silver Screen, selected from an audience survey conducted at last year’s concert, a performance which wowed a local press critic who wrote: “I must admit this was my first time seeing the Bon-Accord Silver Band in action, but the movies show made me a convert”.

The Bon-Accord Silver Band, B Band and Youth Band will close the concert by playing together for the first time.

The Youth Band was formed last September and has been a great success with three of the players already graduating to the B Band and performing at the Scottish Championships in March.

Supported with funding from the William Syson Fund and Scops Arts Trust, the Youth Band has also received a grant from Asda and Neo Next+ for polo shirt uniforms which will be worn on Sunday for the first time.

The B Band is currently fundraising to attend the National Brass Band Championships in York in September, having qualified to represent Scotland as the current 4th Section champions.
