Exciting Euro week ahead for NYBBS stars

Saturday 27 April 2024

National Youth Brass Band of Scotland (NYBBS) stars Emma Brown and Freya McLeman have arrived in Palanga, Lithuania, to join their continental counterparts for an exciting week of music making with the European Youth Brass Band (EYBB).

Today they will be meeting up with their fellow young musicians for an initial get-together with musical director Philip Harper.

The highlight of their trip will be the European Brass Band Championships Gala Concert on Saturday 4 May which will have both a local and international flavour with the Palanga Wind Orchestra, European Youth Brass Band and the Cory Band all taking part.

The EYBB, comprising 36 players from 14 European countries, will be joining forces with Cory to present an exclusive Lithuanian performance of Cory's King Kong show, all under the baton of Philip Harper in a spectacular and immersive brass band experience!

Both Emma, Bb cornetist with Bathgate Band, and Freya, who plays soprano with Bo'ness & Carriden, are being supported on their trip to Palanga by the Scottish Brass Band Association and NYBBS sponsor Polkemmet Embroidery.
