Seventeen bands in line-up for Fife Charities contest

Seventeen bands line up for this year’s Fife Charities contest which is back in its spiritual home in the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy, for the first time in four years following the venue's multi million pound refurbishment.

The entries represent all five sections, with each band performing an own-choice march, hymn and test piece.

The contest starts at 10am on Saturday with the results expected about 7.30pm.

Participating bands are Annan Town, Bathgate, Bon-Accord B, Bo’ness & Carriden, Buckhaven & Methil Miners, Clackmannan District, Croy Silver, Dunfermline City Brass, Dysart Colliery, GT Group (Peterlee), Johnstone, Kingdom Brass, The Kirkintilloch Band, Kirkintilloch Kelvin, Lochgelly, Marsden Silver and Unison Kinneil.

IMPORTANT FOOTNOTE: The brand new bar and cafe in the venue will be open all day as well!
