NYBBS summer school draws to a close with musical feast

The NYBBS summer school is approaching its conclusion and a veritable feast of music is promised at tomorrow’s end-of-course concerts in Stirling.

The Children’s band will be taking to the stage at 3pm at the Albert Halls, Dumbarton Road, Stirling FK8 2QL, followed by the Reserve and Senior bands at 6pm.

Children’s band

·      Joyful, Joyful – arr. Leonard Ballantine

·      The Mask of Zorro – James Horner arr. Sandy Smith

·      Baby Mine – Frank Churchill arr. Leigh Baker

·      Slaidburn Goes Brazillian – William Rimmer arr. Gareth Bowman

·      Daniel – Barry Gott

·      Overdrive – Paul Lovatt-Cooper

Senior band

·      Strike up the Band – George Gershwin arr. Goff Richards

·      Music for a Festival – Philip Sparke

·      Evergreen (soloist – Andrew McMillan)

·      Vivat Regina – William Mathias

·      Nimrod – Edward Elgar arr. Denis Wright

·      A Disney Fantasy – arr. Goff Richards

·      All Night Long – Lionel Richie arr. Leigh Baker

The finale for the evening will be a joint item by the Reserve and Senior bands which will be a fitting conclusion to a magnificent week of music making in Strathallan.
