Entry forms now available for Scottish Festival of Brass 2022

Tuesday 14 June 2022

The Scottish Festival of Brass returns in November as a twin-weekend event after being compressed into a single weekend last year for logistical reasons during Covid.

Entry forms are now available for the Band Supplies Scottish Challenge (for bands in Sections 1-4) which will take place on Saturday 12 November and the Scottish Open, supported by Besson (for Championship bands), two weeks later on Saturday 26 November.

The two contests will be held in Perth Concert Hall and test pieces for both events will be own choice this year.

Further information on the Scottish Challenge and an entry form is available on the Scottish Brass Band Association website. Closing date for entries is 1 October 2022. Details on the Scottish Open and an entry form can be found on the SBBA website. The deadline for entries is 1 July 2022.

The Youth Championships will take place on Sunday 27 November. Further details on this event will be announced in due course.

SBBA president Carrie Boax commented: “The Scottish Festival of Brass is a celebration of our youth and elite bands alike and we are grateful to Besson, 4barsrest and Band Supplies for their belief in, and commitment to, the work of SBBA and the festival.

“We have again secured generous funding from Creative Scotland through their Access to Music Making Fund and look forward to engaging with many of our young brass and percussion players from across the country, delivering masterclass and workshop sessions and, most of all, welcoming our youth bands to perform and showcase the many talented young musicians from their local communities.”
