Bon-Accord Silver is tied at the top of the Scottish rankings with the cooperation band after their second and third places in last weekend’s Scottish Championships.

The grading table just published by the Scottish Brass Band Association takes effect from 1 January 2023. In it Whitburn, which took the Scottish title, is placed third. It will be Whitburn and Bon-Accord being invited to the National finals in the Royal Albert Hall.

In the First Section, Bo’ness & Carriden and Dalkeith & Monktonhall are both promoted after their first and second spots to get an invitation to the National finals in Cheltenham in September.

It’s Campbeltown Brass and Tullis Russell, after their first and second placings, who will be moving up out of the Second Section and heading to Cheltenham as well.

In the Third Section, newly promoted Kilmarnock Concert Brass will be stepping up again along with Dysart Colliery. KCB, who won their section on Saturday, will be travelling to Cheltenham with second-placed Arbroath.

Brass Sounds Inverclyde and Stranraer Brass are promoted from the Fourth Section, after their first and second places, as well as being invited to Cheltenham.
