Back to business for SBBA committee

It was back to business after the Christmas and New Year break for the SBBA committee when members held their first Zoom meeting of 2021 on Sunday.

High on the agenda was a discussion on the logistical details of the AGM and Learning Festival at the end of the month (31 January) which will be taking place via Zoom – see previous post for further information.

The first big event of the year after that will be the Youth Solo and Ensemble Festival and plans for this are now well advanced.

There are hopes that some of the events that had been scheduled last year to celebrate the SBBA 125th anniversary, but then cancelled because of the COVID-19 situation, may be resurrected later in 2021.

A booklet commemorating the anniversary year is currently at the printers and will be sent to all bands as a souvenir of 2020, the year that Coronavirus took the world by surprise.

Other key items on the agenda included finance, communications, education, membership & registrations and area association reports.
