Advent Calendar of Carols: Coalburn Silver Band – Adeste Fideles

Here is our penultimate carol of this Advent Calendar – Alan Fernie’s arrangement of Adeste Fideles by Coalburn Silver Band.

The band have been working flat out over the past few weeks in preparing a virtual Christmas concert which has seen all their ensembles come together for a half-hour presentation which was released on Sunday evening.

December has been a particularly exciting month for the band family as the Silver band's musical director, Gareth Bowman, won the BrassFestUk award for Bandsperson of the Year after his nomination for being the driving force behind keeping the family of bands at Coalburn rehearsing and performing together virtually.

And as an unexpected Christmas present, Coalburn has expressed surprise and excitement at being nominated for Lower Section Band of the Year in the 4barsrest 2020 awards.
