Composer offers march to fundraise for Unison Kinneil Band

Wednesday 5 June 2019

Following the dreadful news surrounding the fire at Unison Kinneil's band hall yesterday, the Scottish composer Paul Drury has taken the decision to fundraise on behalf of the band by offering his march "Kinneil Colliery" in return for a donation to the band. “Kinneil Colliery” is Unison Kinneil Band's signature march, featuring at concerts and contests over the past 10 years.

Paul said, "Kinneil Band is a huge part of my life. I spent many happy years there as a player, conductor and composer in residence and the band is very dear to my heart. My wife still plays with the band, as do many of my closest friends. And as someone who lives in Bo'ness, I know exactly how much the band is at the heart of everything that is good in the local community.  I feel compelled to do something to help.

I am offering a full printed set of score and parts for "Kinneil Colliery" to anyone who wishes to make a donation to the band. The suggested amount is £20. Should any band wish to make this purchase, please contact me at pauldrury16@hotmail.co.uk or via mobile 07792 909720. Alternatively write to me at 4 Avon Place, Bo'ness, EH51 0BP. Cheques should be made payable to v Unison Kinneil Band.”
