National Youth Brass Band of Scotland 1958, can you help?

The above photograph of the first NYBBS course held in 1958 at St.Andrews, was sent to us by Bruce Dorward, Bruce is 3rd on the left back row, on his right is John Tonner. We would like to identfy as many as possible, I think its Brian Rankine bumper up on front row, But who was Principal?  

As this July NYBBS celebrate 60 years and we would like as much information as possible for our Souvenir Brochure. The first course was organised by Drake Rimmer on behalf of the Scottish Amateur Music Association and Brad Catto it's President.  The Musical Director was Dr Denis Wright. The tutors were Norman Ascroft and Kenneth Denison from Fairy's Jack Emmont From Black Dyke, Enoch Jackson, Gregor J Grant and Alfred Bell.

NYBBS end of course concerts this year are at Strathallan on 28th July for the Reserve and Children's Band, also on 29th July in Albert Hall, Stirling at 2 pm for the Senior NYBBS and the former members NYBBS@60 band. If you would like to be involved in the former members band please contact Ann Murray ASAP,  annmurray37@hotmail.co.uk   the former members band will be conducted by Richard Evans.
