Judges announced ahead of Scottish Festival of Brass

The Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA) has announced details of the adjudication panel ahead of the 2017 Scottish Festival of Brass which will be held at Perth Concert Hall in November.

Following last month’s announcement of the test-piece selections for bands entering the 15th annual Scottish Open, it will be up to the experienced pairing of Alan Morrison and Steven Mead to adjudicate the four Peter Graham works on offer - Harrison’s Dream, Metropolis 1927, Montage and The Essence of Time. Bands hoping to participate at the Scottish Open, which will be held on Saturday, 25 November, are reminded that the closing date for entries is next Friday, 30 June. Entry forms should be completed and emailed to chboax@gmail.com.

The Band Supplies Scottish Challenge contest, which will be held the previous Saturday (18 November), is to be adjudicated by Owen Farr and David Barringer. The closing date for this contest is 28 July 2017. Completed entry forms should be sent to fraserp3@virginmedia.com.

The Scottish Youth Championships, taking place over the weekend of 25 and 26 November will have an adjudication panel which includes Mark Wilkinson, John Doyle, Steven Mead, Alan Morrison and Les Neish. Completed entry forms should be sent to Professor Raymond Thomson, Flat 7/1, 82 Templeton Street, Glasgow, G40 1EE.
