Andrew McMillan appointed resident conductor of Bo’ness & Carriden

Bo’ness & Carriden Band has announced that it has appointed Andrew McMillan as its new resident conductor.

Andrew holds the distinction of being the first person to graduate with a BMus qualification in tenor horn from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, earning first class honours degree.

A passionate and versatile musician, he recently featured as the soloist in the stage production of Keli during its run in Scottish theatres.

In addition to his performing career, Andrew is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of brass musicians. He has worked with bands across Scotland at a variety of levels, bringing energy, musicality and a collaborative spirit to every ensemble he leads.

Andrew has gained valuable experience under the guidance of renowned conductors including Russell Gray, Allan Withington and the late Nigel Boddice, attending their courses and learning from their wealth of expertise.

He joins the band with great enthusiasm ahead of the Fife Charities Band Association contest later this month.
