Martyn to take up the Kirkie baton

Further to our previous post on Hedley Benson stepping down from The Kirkintilloch Band, it has been announced that his successor as resident conductor will be Martyn Ramsay.

Martyn, a former Kirkie player and a passionate supporter of the brass band movement, has already made a positive impression during a number of recent rehearsals and the band is looking forward to continuing its musical development under his leadership.

The band wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to Hedley for his passion, dedication and leadership. During his tenure, he has been pivotal to the rejuvenation of the band, helping to lay strong foundations for the future.

The Kirkintilloch Band is determined to build on this hard work and looks forward to the next chapter with optimism and enthusiasm. It is hoped that Hedley will continue to be involved in future projects.
