Co’s open rehearsal ahead of European Championships
the cooperation band is holding a special open rehearsal as it prepares to represent Scotland and Glasgow at the European Brass Band Championships in Stavanger, Norway.
This year’s competition marks the band’s 16th appearance at this prestigious event.
“With two runner-up finishes and seven top-six placings in previous years, the band is aiming to bring the European Trophy home to Scotland for the very first time,” said Alan Douglas, band manager.
“Your presence and support at our open rehearsal would mean so much as we head into this exciting challenge. All are welcome – friends, family, brass band lovers, and anyone curious to hear world-class music-making in action.”
The rehearsal presents a unique opportunity to hear a live preview of the European set work, Transitions in Energy by Fredrick Schjelderup, as well as the band’s own-choice test-piece, performed under the baton of Katrina Marzella-Wheeler.
The open rehearsal will take place at Govan and Linthouse Parish Church, Glasgow G51 2YL, starting at 7.30pm on Monday 5 May.
