Kingdom on top form in Fife

Adam Smith Theatre

MEMBERS of Kingdom Brass have celebrated after enjoying a clean sweep of victories at the Fife Charities competition in Kirkaldy.

The championship band took the honours in each of the march, hymn and open contests under the baton of Raymond Tennant at the event on Saturday, September 26. Behind Kingdom in second place was Bon Accord Silver, with Steve Malcolm, and Newmilns and Galston, conducted by Alan Cameron, in third.

Kindgom triumphed after a programme which included its own choice test piece of Harmony Music, by Philip Sparke, and William Rimmer's march, Ravenswood. It rounded off a packed day of music making at the Adam Smith Theatre, with 18 bands from championship to fourth section taking part in an effort to impress adjudicator, Owen Farr.
