Coalburn players set for NYBBS
THE future appears to be bright for the Coalburn organisation as eight of its young brass players prepare to attend the 2015 National Youth Brass Bands of Scotland (NYBBS) courses.
Anna Biggart, Beth Damer, Calum Blair, Calum Miller, Drew Gupwell, Emily Barclay, Euan Court and Jack Archibald will represent the bronze, intermediate and silver bands. The courses run from Sunday, July 26 until Saturday, August 1 in the Queen Victoria School, Dunblane, culminating with two concerts in Dunblane Cathedral.
Alan Court, Coalburn Band president, commented: ‘"We are absolutely thrilled at the uptake for this year's NYBBS course. We have subsidised the week and this has undoubtedly helped.
"We are delighted with the progress of our youngsters and look forward to supporting them further as they continue with their musical education.''
