2015 ‘Land O'Burns - Brass in Concert'
Troon Concert Hall - Saturday 20th June 2015
I am delighted to inform you that the 2015 ‘Land O'Burns - Brass in Concert' event will be held on Saturday 20th June in Troon Concert Hall.
The competition will be open to all Championship, 1st, 2nd and 3rd section bands in the United kingdom.
Scotland's top prize money will be maintained, with £3,000.00 paid to the overall winning band and the 2014 total prize money was £6,700.00. The prize money for certain section winners might change, but will not be decreased!
In the last few years, ‘Land O'Burns - Brass in Concert' has had a rather unique entertainment factor, giving bands and their conductors great opportunities to really entertain the audience and that entertainment factor will be maintained again in 2015.
In 2015, all bands will give a 20 minutes concert programme and every band must play a DISNEY PIECE ( published or unpublished ) and will be able to use any instruments, from bagpipes to keyboards, which fit on the stage and their conductors can do as they please, playing, singing or dancing (!), but are not allowed to speak or introduce the pieces.
In addition, all bands can use one more piece, singing, dancing or using any instruments which fit on the stage ..... and the individual entertainment prize will be a whopping £500.00 again in the 2015 event ( won in 2014 by Coalburn Silver Band ).
Invitations will be sent out to bands, which have competed at LOB in recent years, in January 2015 and if your band would like to receive an invite please contact Bert Ritchie - President of Dalmellington Band on his contact details shown below.
This event will be well attended next year, so bands will be accepted on a "first come - first served" basis and will be limited to manageable numbers, so please don't hesitate to contact Bert if you require further information, or if we can help in any way.
