Bathgate Youth Band appoint Neill McDonald as Musical Director.
Bathgate Youth Band is delighted to announce the appointment of Neill McDonald as Musical Director.
Originally a Baritone horn player, Neill played with the Marr College in Troon under the tuition of Sandy McAughtrie. Neill later joined Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band under the direction of John Boax where he moved onto Bb bass. Neill has previous experience playing in several bands, notably Kilmarnock Concert Brass under Andrew Keachie MBE and Craig Anderson, Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass, Roberts Bakery Band and Johnstone Band under the direction of Paul Kiernan and Martyn Ramsay. In 2013 Neill took up the baton of Dumfries Town Band and has enjoyed the development of players so much so, that he now relishes the challenge of working with Bathgate Band to develop the Youth players.
Bathgate Youth Band is excited to have Neill working with them, building on the enthusiasm of the young players leading up to their first public engagement in December this year.
Bathgate Youth Band rehearse every Thursday evening 6pm - 7.15pm and welcome new players.
