Foyer Music Opportunity at the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships 2013

An extra performance opportunity for the children playing in the Perth Concert Hall is being offered at the Scottish Youth Brass Band Championships on November 17th and 24th.

SBBA are looking for small ensembles of up to six players from the competing bands to play in the foyer space. This will add to the children's involvement in the day and also greatly add to the atmosphere. If your band has any children who would like to play, either as a duet, trio, quartet, quintet or sextet, then we would like to offer them a performance slot in the foyer following your band's performance on stage.

This is how it will work.

Any groups of children wishing to then play in the foyer should come to the performance space, in the foyer just behind the main entrance door. This space will be available all day for small ensembles to perform and will be set out with 6 music stands and 6 chairs, so if you wish to play then just turn up and play. The only thing we ask is that the young players are accompanied by at least one adult from your band and that they are supervised at all times.

.Each band is being invited to provide ensembles to play up to three short pieces between 1 - 3 minutes in length of your own choice. This could be done either by three different ensembles or by one or two

ensembles from your band. If your band does wish to take part in providing some foyer music then please email us the following details -

The name of your band

The time of your band's performance in the hall

The ensemble(s) (Please state if duet, trio quartet or quintet)

The name of the adult helper who will be with your children

Please email your details to andrewduncan@sbba.org.uk or send an email for more details.
