New Developments at Shotts
On Saturday October 26th 2013, Shotts St Patricks Brass Band, based in North Lanarkshire will be thrilled to offically launch our new youth/intermediate organisation - Shotts Development Brass Band.
This exciting new venture has been launched to not only ensure the future of the brass band movement in the Shotts and North Lanarkshire area but also to allow the youth of our local community the opportunity to learn to play a musical instrument alongside their peers and join the exciting world of Brass Banding. We were recently awarded a grant from the Coal Regeneration Trust that has allowed us to purchase 21 brand new instruments exclusively for this new organisation.
We will be hosting an open day in the senior band rehearsal hall on Saturday October 26th at 1pm to allow potential members to come along and meet with the committee, see the range of instruments available and find out more about the opportunities available. Members of the senior band will also be in attendance to demonstrate the instruments and even perform a small concert. Refreshments will also be provided and entry is completely free of charge - as is the membership of the band and loan of an instrument to those who join us.
Shotts St Patricks Brass are thrilled to be finally launching their junior/development band and excited at the plans for the future of this new organisation.
