MacTaggart Scott Loanhead band seeks new players.
This active, and above all friendly local band were Scottish Fourth Section Champions in 2011, came 10th in the National Championships and were Fourth Section Band of the Year. This year we came 5th in the Third Section at the Scottish Championships.
Notwithstanding the friendly atmosphere at our rehearsals, we have no lack of ambition. As a band we are committed to participating in our local community and are one of the most active bands in Scotland, giving a number of concerts and playing at local events. We have a proud contesting tradition.
The band is seeking new players - we currently need a principal trombone and a euphonium and cornet players and a percussionist would also be welcome. Loanhead is situated close to the Edinburgh City Bypass and is on a convenient bus route for the city centre. Rehearsals take place on Monday and Thursday evenings from 19.30 to 21.30. Anyone interested should contact Band Chair Robin Henderson via GRobinHenderson@talktalk.net.
