12th BORDERS FESTIVAL OF BRASS
12th BORDERS FESTIVAL OF BRASS
17 SEPTEMBER - 21 OCTOBER 2011
Now in its twelfth year, Borders Festival of Brass has grown to become a popular and well-respected Borders-wide event, full of good music, entertainment and fun. The 2011 Festival is set to take place from 17 September-21 October and arrangements are well underway thanks to the efforts of the Scottish Borders Brass Band Association. The Festival will see ten events organised by each of the member bands and will include several exciting concerts, a long-established solo and quartet competition and a brass and percussion workshop for school children. Borders Association Chairman, Alan Fernie, commented "we are delighted that the Festival of Brass is set to continue again this year. Bands in the Borders work very hard within their local communities and the Festival is an excellent example of that. There is a host of excellent events to choose from within the 2011 programme."
