Speaking about the competition, west of Scotland area secretary Robert McCorkell said “The number of entries is very encouraging this year and we are hoping that this bodes well for the future. We are also delighted that the renowned tuba player with the Fodens band, Mr. Les Neish, has agreed to be the adjudicator for the competition and he will offer feedback and demonstration to those competitors who wish to avail themselves of the chance to learn something from a master musician. I would also like to say that our Association is indebted to the Salvation Army in Greenock who have wilingly opened their doors to us and have agreed to the use of their premises as the venue for this year’s competition”.
Entry to the event is by ticket which can be purchased at the door priced £3 (£2 concessions). Light refreshments will also be available during the course of the day.
