D&M Lothian Brass Solo and Ensemble Contest

Around 60 solists and ensemblists filled the Port Seton Community Centre in East Lothian for D&M Lothian Brass second annual solo and ensemble contests in support of Scottish Brass Band Week.

Adjudicated by David Horsfield, ex Brighouse and Black Dyke cornet player, the audience enjoyed a full day of stylish and entertaining playing from competitors as young as 9 years old, right up to seniors of decades of experience. Alan Hastie was the official accompanist.

The organisers thank everyone for their support, and look forward to meeting everyone next year. The event is now well embedded and a provisional date of Saturday 19th May is made for 2007.
