Hugh Johnstone Honoured
In recognition of his outstanding service to the Scottish brass band movement Dalmellington Band stalwart Hugh Johnstone has been appointed as an Honorary Vice-President of SBBA. Last Friday night SBBA exec member Jim Stewart presented Hugh with his medal. Hugh has been one of those largely unsung heroes at many Scottish Championships and latterly at the Scottish Open contests too. He is usually to be found backstage marshalling the percussion and keeping things running smoothly. Hugh also has a passion for history and originally produced the historical record of the Scottish Brass Band Association which is on this website. The SBBA would like to express its grateful thanks to Hugh for his many years service to the association and to the wider brass band public in Scotland.
