Raymond Tennant Takes Over At Newtongrange
Newtongrange Band is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond Tennant as its new Musical Director. Raymond is a talented and highly experienced conductor and the band is confident his appointment will allow it to build upon the successes achieved in recent months when both the Scottish Championship and West Lothian Festival titles have been secured.
The appointment marks a return for Raymond to Newtongrange where he enjoyed considerable success in his previous spell including 4th place at the Royal Albert Hall in 1991 on the last occasion when the band held the Scottish Championship title. Raymond?s first contest with the band will be this year?s National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall in October.
The band is also pleased to advise that Bryan Allen will be the Guest Conductor at this year?s Brass in the Park event. Bryan will conduct Newtongrange in the opening Gala Concert on Friday 2 September and in its various performances on Sunday 4 September. The band members are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Bryan in these major concerts.
