Last chance for Young Scottish Composers Competition 2017

Interested parties are reminded that the dealine for submissions to the Scottish Brass Band Association's (SBBA's) Young Scottish Composers Competition 2017 is tomorrow, Monday 20 February.

Any original compositions which have still to be sent in should be emailed to Education Officer John Boax at johnboax14@gmail.com. Scores should be submitted in PDF format along with an MP3 recording.

The final of the event will be held at the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland's (NYBBS') Easter Course which takes place from 3 to 6 April 2017 at the Strathallan School in Perthshire. The NYBBS Senior Band will perform the top three compositions as chosen by a panel of judges. Adjudicators will then be in place to award the top three prizes (£1,500, £1,000 and £500) to the successful entries. The winning work will also be showcased at NYBBS' Summer Course concert on 29 July.
