Gorbals looking to grow

A BRASS band project providing opportunities for children in Glasgow to explore their creativity is on the lookout for a new staff member to supplement its team.

The Gorbals Youth Brass Band (GYBB) is searching for a project trainee to assist with the tuition of students and administration of the programme. Responsibilities will include the design and implementation of creative and interactive lesson plans, undertaking pastoral duties and accompanying students on external trips.

Situated in an area of multiple and social deprivation, GYBB provides a secure learning environment for children to develop their creative skills through high quality instrumental lessons and band rehearsals.

The post will run from February until June 2016 (12 sessions at a rate of  £20 per session). Applicants must have or be studying for a degree in a related field and be a grade eight or equivalent brass musician. The post requires membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
