St Ronan’s stalwart’s sad passing

The Scottish Brass Band Association is saddened to hear from St Ronan’s Silver Band of the passing of one of its stalwarts, Ann Hamilton.

Cornet player Ann joined the band 50 years ago and was a loyal member throughout good and lean times for St Ronan's.

Although she hadn’t played with the senior band for some time, she continued to provide support by playing with the Future Band and helping with the youth programme.

It is only in recent months, while suffering from ill health, that Ann stepped back from playing.

Her kindly ways and quiet support of St Ronan’s young musicians will be sadly missed.

Condolences are sent to Ann’s family, friends and fellow band members.
