Sad passing of Audrey McKenna

The Scottish Brass Band Association is saddened to learned from Dunfermline City Brass of the passing and subsequent funeral of a former member, Audrey McKenna.

Audrey, who passed away peacefully last month in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, was 75 years old. Her funeral took place at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on Thursday 28 May, which was attended by several Fife brass banders, including Dunfermline City Brass chairman Danny Harrison.

Audrey started playing euphonium at her local primary school before joining the brass band in Cowdenbeath. She then went on to play with the then Kelty & Blairadam Band.

She joined Dunfermline Town Brass in the 90s and was a playing member for several years before retiring for health reasons.

SBBA and the banding community send their condolences to husband Jacky, family and friends.
