Flugel star Stephanie to adjudicate at Innerleithen contest

The 12th annual Innerleithen Youth Brass Band Contest, which takes place on Saturday 25 October in St Ronan's School, Innerleithen, will see seven youth bands from across the Borders and Midlothian playing short concert-style programmes.

Organised by St. Ronan's Silver Band, the competition will be adjudicated by Stephanie Kennedy, flugelhorn soloist for the cooperation band and performing artist for Geneva Instruments, educator and conductor.

Stephanie began her musical journey with Campbeltown Brass, rising to the role of principal cornet. She later joined The Kirkintilloch Band where she progressed from repiano to principal cornet, contributing to major successes at the Scottish Championships, British Open and National Championships of Great Britain.

The event will start at 10.30am, entry costs £5 and children go free. There will be a raffle and café serving hot and cold snacks and drinks.
