Bon-Accord sets up youth band
The Bon-Accord Silver Band has established a youth band and is looking to recruit young brass and percussion players from Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
Vice chairman Gary Macdonald said: “The creation of the Bon-Accord Youth Band marks an exciting step in our ongoing commitment to expanding musical opportunities for young musicians.
“Designed to be a fun safe space, time for socialising will play a major part of the music making experience.”
Weekly rehearsals will take place in the Bon-Accord band hall in Kincorth, Aberdeen, on a Sunday at 6-7.30pm and will be free to all members.
Gary added: “Our youth band will not only introduce a new generation to the joy of brass band music but will also encourage teamwork, creativity and personal development.”
The rehearsal schedule is due to start after the school summer holidays.
