Alistair joins Kingdom Brass as resident conductor

Kingdom Brass has announced that Alistair Gibson has been appointed as its new resident conductor.

Alistair studied at the RNCM in Manchester and at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen, before embarking on a varied career as conductor, educator and trombonist.

He has conducted a wide range of ensembles including Broxburn & Livingston Band, Linlithgow Reed Band, Glasgow Orchestral Society and the Wallace Collection.

His enthusiasm and dynamic rehearsals have impressed Kingdom members and they are looking forward to working with Alistair. The band’s first couple of outings under his baton will be at the Fife Brass Band Festival and in the Senior Cup competition in the Spring Festival.

Alistair commented: "I am incredibly honoured and excited to take up the role with such a great group of musicians. Their hard work, professionalism and humour has shown in rehearsals and I look forward to the variety of competitions, concerts and projects we have coming up."
