Durham Music free music offer to qualifying Scottish bands
This year some of the qualifying Scottish Bands will be receiving free National Finals test piece sheet music for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain later in the year.
Any Scottish band who purchased their 2025 Championships contest music from Durham Music Shop will receive their finals piece free should they qualify and accept the Kapitol Promotions invitation.
This is the first time outside the North of England that the company has made such a generous offer to the successful bands. Director Brian Yates explained: “This is our way of working with the Scottish Brass Band Association to support our customer members when representing Scotland at Cheltenham and the Royal Albert Hall.
“We acknowledge the massive expense of competing at the finals and hope this small gesture will go some way to offsetting some of the costs.”
The only condition is that chosen finals pieces must be made available to Durham Music Shop at trade prices. If not, then the company will make a contribution towards the purchase price.
