Extended youth band rehearsal will feature top MD and Geneva instruments
Attendees at the Cooperation Youth Band rehearsal on Sunday will have the unique opportunity to learn from Dr Glenn Van Looy’s extensive experience as a musical director and educator, gain insights into his innovative techniques and participate in an engaging Q&A session.
In an exciting departure from the usual rehearsal, special guests from the Geneva arts scene will also be in attendance, providing participants with the chance to try out the company’s instruments.
The Youth Band practice will commence at 1pm as usual and extend until 4pm, allowing ample time for creative exploration and collaborative learning.
The session – at the cooperation band hall, Europa Building, Argyle Street, Glasgow – will feature a diverse setlist including Pennine Moors, How to Train Your Dragon, Mandalorian, Happy and Caspers Lament.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for young musicians to immerse themselves in the dynamic Geneva music scene while learning from one of the best,” said Youth Band conductor Stephanie Kennedy.
“We encourage all participants to research Glenn’s work ahead of time and come prepared with questions to make the most of this inspiring experience.”
There’s still time to be part of this musical event. Interested participants can secure their spot by filling out the sign-up form.
After the Youth Band session, everyone is invited to stay and witness Dr. Van Looy in action with the cooperation band as they prepare to defend their title at the Scottish Championships.
