Four bands in open rehearsal on eve of Scottish Championships
The Whitburn, Lochgelly and Whitburn Heartlands bands and Kirkton Brass Bathgate will all be taking part in an open rehearsal ahead of this year’s Scottish Championships.
Whitburn, conducted by Professor Nicholas Childs, will showcase Philip Wilby’s Red Priest, this year’s Championship Section test piece.
Lochgelly, under the baton of Chris Shanks, will rehearse and perform the First Section piece A Day in the Life of a Knight, composed by Phil Lawrence.
Whitburn Heartlands and Paul Kiernan will work on the Third Section test Chorale and Toccata by Stephen Bulla, while Kirkton Brass Bathgate with Simon Railton will play the Fourth Section work Hungerford Town by Darrol Barry.
The open rehearsal is free to attend and will be held at the Pentecostal Church in Whitburn on Friday 10 March, starting at 7.30pm.
