The Band of 1271 (Bathgate) Squadron Air Training Corps is in its final preparations ahead of a busy Remembrance Sunday.
The Band is looking forward to what will be its first Remembrance Sunday Parade. Leading the Band will be Drum Major CWO Noer who has recently been selected to lead the National Marching Band of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets at the National Memorial Arboretum and RAF Northolt during 2017.

The Band will lead the annual Parade in Armadale in the morning as well as providing music at the War Memorial. CDT Stephens will perform the Last Post and Rouse as the Solo Bugler marking the start and end of the two minutes silence and the band will also play the National Anthem.
Members of the Band will then parade with the Squadron at Bathgate where the Squadron will provide a Banner Bearer for the local branch of Legion Scotland, a duty that the Squadron has carried out for the last three years. A wreath will also be laid to commemorate those who have fallen.
Upon return to the Legion in Bathgate the Band of 1271 (Bathgate) Squadron will perform a short concert after the meal at approximately 3.15pm. The concert will see the nearly 20 strong band and Corps of Drums entertain with a varied programme of Marches from the Three Services, TV theme tunes, Hymns and some traditional Scottish Music with a modern twist.

The Band will be led by Bandmaster FS (ATC) Dean Welsh who graduated in July 2016 from Abertay University Dundee with a BA (Hons) in Music performance. The Band was formed in 2012 under his direction and has since performed at a number of high profile events across Central Scotland for the Air Training Corps, Service Charities and other parties. The voncert is open to the public and no tickets are required. Further information can be obtained from band.wscot@aircadets.org.
