Glasgow Trombone Weekend further details announced
Further to our article last month previewing the Glasgow Trombone Weekend, https://www.sbba.org.uk/news/5329/glasgow-all-set-for-trombone-weekend, further details have now been announced ahead of the jam-packed event.
Trombonists from far and wide will converge on Glasgow for the upcoming Trombone Week, organised by the BBC, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) and British Trombone Society (BTS). There will be perfomances by Jörgen van Rijen, Christian Lindberg and Simon Johnson together with the BBC Scottish Orchestra on 22 and 23 June. The BTS is bringing no less than three exciting competitions to the RCS on Saturday 24 June. Mnozil Brass are offering their new show at the City Halls that same evening, and the week culminates on Sunday 25 June with a day of events organised by the British Trombone Society at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with appearances by Matt Gee, Christian Jones, Katy Jones, and Gordon Campbell. The weeks proceedings will be celebrated at an after party at the Flying Duck, where Slide Rule with Adrian Drover and Gordon Campbell will be bringing this epic event to a suitably raucous end.
