Drury to leave Tullis Russell

PAUL Drury is to step down from his position as Musical Director of Tullis Russell Mills Band, the organisation has announced.
The news comes after a successful three year relationship which saw the band gain promotion to the first section and included victories at the Scottish Championships, Borders Entertainment Contest and the Fife Brass Band Festival.
Paul Drury said: "It's a huge wrench to leave Tullis Russell after a fantastic and busy three years. There have been many highlights but perhaps the happiest was when we won the Scottish second section title and earned the opportunity to play at the 2014 European Championships.
"These are truly amazing memories. I wish the Tullis Russell organisation every success in the future and will look back on my time with the band with exceptional fondness."
A spokesman for Tullis Russell Mills Band said: "Paul and the band have had a great three years and we will be sorry to see him go and wish Paul every success for the future.
"Brass bands are dynamic organisations and changes and moves happen all the time. Tullis will now invite applications for the position of MD."
Anyone interested in applying for the position should apply to the band secretary.
All three bands in the Tullis Russell Organisation are now gearing up for a very busy Christmas season with no fewer than 11 appearances for the bands booked during December.
