Irvine and Dreghorn on the way to Cheltenham

MEMBERS of Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band have celebrated after enjoying success at the 2015 Scottish Championships.
Under the direction of new conductor Helen Douthwaite, the band impressed in the third section on Philip Sparke's set work, Evolution: Five States of Change and came in second place.
The result means Irvine and Dreghorn will join third section winners, Renfrew Burgh Band, in representing Scotland at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain later in the year.
Over the next few months the band will be fundraising furiously to allow it to represent Scotland, and would welcome any support the community, local organisations and businesses could give. This can be in any form, such as sponsorship, raffle prizes or even just supporting or advertising the band's events.
Irvine and Dreghorn's next event is its Black and Gold Ball which will take place on Saturday, April 25 from 6.45pm, at the Menzies Hotel in Irvine.
Tickets cost £27.50 and include a three course meal and live band, Addiction, to help boogie the night away..
The band's resident photographer, Linda Cairns, from Personally Yours Photography, will be in attendance to take group, single and couple shots should you wish a memory of the night. Attendees can access a special twin double room rate of £50 B&B.
