Update for 4th section bands: An English Pastorale
FOURTH section bands preparing for the Regional Championships next month have been notified of a clarification to the score in the set test piece.
Alan Hope, secretary of the Music Commission, advised bands of a mistake in An English Pastorale, by Dean Jones.
The message from Mr Hope can be seen below:
Dear Colleague,
Can I draw your attention to a mistake on the Section Four test piece - An English Pastorale.
It appears that on bar 71 - Perc 1. score & part, the instruction 'glockenspiel ' has, on some scores been omitted.
I won't go into detail about how this happened, but all competing bands and adjudicators should be aware that this part should be played on the glockenspiel - not on a xylophone as some have been advised.
I have put this instruction on the Errata Page on the National web-site.
I would be grateful if you could advise your bands and adjudicators.
Many Thanks
Alan Hope
Secretary
Music Commission
