SP&S are delighted that Kevin Norbury¹s Variations on Maccabeus has been selected as the Section Two Regional Test Piece this year. Recognising the fact that this music was selected based on the original scoring for SA bands, after discussion with the Music Selection Panel we agreed that the score should be revised to accommodate the fact that competing bands will be limited to 3 trombone players. Revised parts have already been made available (1st 2nd & Bass Trombone, Solo & First Horn, 1st & 2nd Baritone). Additionally, a revised score, reflecting these changes has now been produced, and this is available from SP&S free of charge.
All adjudicators will be issued with the revised score.
Competing Band secretaries should contact the Customer Services Department at SP&S on 01933 445445 stating their band name, secretary name, address and contact telephone number for their free copy of the revised score.
