CHARITY CONCERT
THE C0-OPERATIVE FUNERALCARE BAND IN RETURN VISIT TO INVERCLYDE

The Co-operative Funeralcare Band is set to return to Inverclyde later in the month for a concert in aid of local charity "Starter Packs Inverclyde". The band, which last visited the area a year ago, will return to St. John's Episcopal Church in Union Street, Greenock on Saturday, 26th April, 2014 and will give a concert of music to suit most tastes. The band will be conducted by Allan Ramsay and guest soloist for the evening will be Fraser Pearce who is Director of Music at St. John's and will perform a number of organ works during the concert.

Admission to the event will be £10 with concessions at £8 and further information can be obtained by telephoning 07973498310 or 01505 326347.

The charity chosen to benefit from the concert is Starter Packs Inverclyde which was launched in September 2002 by Inverclyde Churches Working Together and was set up in response to the very real needs of families and individuals in Inverclyde who had accessed or were trying to access a first tenancy and who did not have the resources to turn that tenancy into a home. Starter Packs Inverclyde collects and distributes packs of basic household goods which are essential to a new tenant.

Band Chairman Robert McCorkell said "Whenever we give a concert we try, if it is possible, to link it to a charity in the local area. Starter Packs Inverclyde has been recommended to us as one which is worthy of support and the band is very pleased to be associated with it".
