New Signing at Co-op

New Signing
Press Release
The Co-operative Funeralcare Band is pleased to announce a new signing to bolster the ranks ahead of the British Open

Scott Kerr, the highly talented former Euphonium player of Newmilns & Galston, has joined the band as the Co-Principal Euphonium.
Scott commented " To be joining the band I have listened to, watched and admired as a young boy, is like joining your favorite football team - an incredible experience.
The opportunities and experiences I have had already have been of great benefit to my playing and banding career. You cannot put a price on meeting and working with some our country's, and indeed the world's, best musicians and conductors that comes with playing with the Co op Band. For this, I can only thank Martin Stack, the Band's Manager, Allan Ramsey, and of course, the Band's committee.
I would also like to give thanks to my old band, Newmilns and Galston. Having started in the band when I was only 12, the band became a secondary family while I spent nearly 10 years there. Without all of their guidance and support I would not be where I am today, and I wish them all the best in the coming years.
I look forward to hopefully a long association with 'The Co' as their co Principal Euphonium."
Band Manager Martin Stack commented, " We are really excited that Scott all accepted our invitation to join the ranks. I have heard him play many times and have track his progress very closely for the last twelve months. He recently guested with us at concerts and contests he is a fantastic player with a very big future ahead of him.
I'd like to place on record our gratitude to Chris Shanks who has moved to the Principal Baritone chair, the sign of a true bandsman willing to move for the betterment of the band.
This appointment and moves make us stronger as an ensemble. I'm sure Scott will relish working with Glenn and saviour his British Open debut."
